BCAL scoop architecture award.

Judges comment for Angel Field, Hope University Liverpool.

"Beautifully crafted, subtle, multi-layered, therapeutic, this is a landscape that encourages use and enjoyment in all manner of ways and at all times of the year.

The contrast with the denuded public realm which surrounds the site could not be greater. Here you can rest, meet, watch performances, have your graduation photo taken, or just enjoy walking through a landscape which transforms your expectations of what is possible in such a challenging location.

The series of external rooms formed by the mature Yew hedges address different facets of the surrounding university buildings, tying them together and extending the visual context across Shaw Street to ‘capture’ the adjoining Collegiate school there by opening up an invitation to enjoy this space to the public beyond the university confines."

RIBA Northern Network Awards 2011 were held in Newcastle last week. We had an amazing night and we were honoured to scoop  the top Landscape Award and also the overall Project of the Year: Red Rose Award for the North West [including architecture, landscape and interiors]. Woop!

Great news – we have just heard Angel Field has been short-listed for a national Roses Design Award. Thanks to everyone’s hard work and dedication.
